01 — The Human Scale
Building a Sustainable Ecosystem for 330+ International Scholars
When I looked at the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship program, I saw over 330 of the brightest and most ambitious international students in Canada from over 188 countries operating in complete silos. There was no central infrastructure. No cross-cohort connections, no communication channels, no shared social fabric. I didn't wait for the university to fix it. I took ownership of a problem that wasn't mine and architected the communication and social systems from scratch. I created the cross-cohort WhatsApp network, organized 30+ official and unofficial events in a year, and as the Social Committee Co-Chair I managed a $10K+ annual fund for community programming. Today, it is a self-sustaining ecosystem that connects scholars across every cohort, campus, and country.
Wall of Impact ——— hear directly from the people
Proof of System Design
I build infrastructure that scales.
"The WhatsApp social you made and manage since it allows all the scholars across different cohorts and campus to meet each other and connect. It creates a sense of community for all of us, and gives us a platform for sharing resources, and advices for each other."
— Kevin T., 2024 Pearson Scholar
Proof of Complex Coordination & Seamless Execution
I manage budgets, logistics, and execute large-scale initiatives — so well they feel effortless.
"Want to fully recognize how much thought & effort you put into this, and how cool it is that you could put this kind & scale of a Pearson trip together... thank you expedition lead @Angel for putting everything together so seamlessly."
— Devansh K., Vedant H., Mahmoud R., Matthieu C., Haris M., Mubtaseem Z. — Pearson Scholars and Alumni (Portaging Trip, Jul 2025)
Proof of Deep Empathy
I care deeply about the people using the systems I build.
"She goes beyond just organizing events. She's very hands on, checking in on committee members and when the events take place, she makes a point of going around to make sure everyone feels included."
— Hilary W., 2025 Pearson Scholar
Proof of Belonging
I create spaces where people feel like they matter.
"Coming from another country and missing my family, they've really made me feel included and part of the Pearson/UofT community!! It's made a bigger difference than you probably realize."
— Sara S., 2025 Pearson Scholar
Proof of Scale
The community I built spans 180+ scholars from vastly different backgrounds.
"Angel has single-handedly united a community of over 180 scholars from vastly different cultural and academic backgrounds. Her continuous effort, genuine care, and passion for fostering these connections have been transformative for many, including myself."
— Sandra R., 2022 Pearson Scholar
Proof of Lasting Impact
What I build endures beyond my involvement.
"You are the glue and guide of Pearson community. You make new Pearsons feel like they belong and connect them with old Pearsons through the events in THE MOST NATURAL way I have ever seen anyone do."
— Thúy N., 2024 Pearson Scholar
Proof of Growth & Mentorship
Even alumni keep coming back because of what I've built.
"I've seen you grow a lot over these last few years. I see you put in a lot of effort to bring your vision of creating a stronger Pearson community to life. I graduated a while ago, but your events continue to help me meet a lot of very interesting and ambitious people."
— Mubtaseem Z., 2017 Pearson Alumnus
02 — Systemic Equity & Technical Leverage
Driving Systemic Equity & Executing Technical Leverage
I build systems that matter to real people, focusing on marginalized populations, equitable access, and technology that increases human leverage.
Empowering Financial Freedom
NGO Partnerships · India
Partnered with NGOs in India to build on-the-ground pathways for female financial independence, helping women gain economic agency through artisanal work and selling handmade products, and mentoring young girls at orphanages. A mission that aligns directly with Wealthsimple's goal to help everyone achieve financial freedom.
Equitable Healthcare Innovation
Transform HF · Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research · UHN
Over a multi-year UX Research Fellowship, I spearheaded research and design for a cardiac survivorship app for sudden cardiac arrest survivors in Canada. Now the only undergraduate trainee in the Transform HF program, participating in user-centred design workshops with researchers, scientists, and patient partners, with a dedicated focus on Indigenous cultural safety in research and product design (including a 3-day intensive camp). Research published in Springer at HCI International 2024.
The AI-Native Builder
I'm curious about how technology reshapes work and actively look for tools that increase my leverage.

03 — More of My Work & Perspective
The Global Perspective
My drive for equitable tech didn't start in a classroom.. it started on the ground in India and shaped everything I've built since.
